Kids from financially struggling families got a head start on celebrating Christmas, thanks to The Grove Heritage Association and Northfield Township Food Pantry.

The occasion was the fifth annual Christmas in the Woods on Nov. 28 at The Grove, and 120 children ages 2-17 took part in the festivities.

This holiday tradition was introduced by Northbrook’s Jeff Beckman and his wife, Helene, five years ago.
