Growing up in the North Shore, it oftentimes felt like kid paradise. The Dairy Bar didn’t need a Michelin star to compete with Alinea, Chicago’s downtown could not match The Glen, and the rolling hill of John’s Park seemed to touch the clouds; however, once I grew past the age of 12, the magic of the suburbs melted away and was replaced with teen angst and rebellion.
