With a round of applause, the Northbrook/Glenview District 30 school board officially signed off on the construction of a new Maple School at its Feb. 8 meeting.

The last major step toward the creation of the new middle school occurred when the school board unanimously approved four contracts tied into the construction of the new facility to begin later this year.

“We are building a new school guys,” Chuck Gitles, school board president announced at the end of the last vote, drawing a roar of approval from his fellow board members.
