According to the location’s general manager Sean Sorensen, employees were told just after Thanksgiving that Nov. 30 would be the restaurant’s final day operating in Northbrook.

“It just came down to the fact that the lease was up and the [restaurant] owner decided that he didn’t want to renew the lease at that time,” Sorensen said. “To the best of my knowledge, I’m not sure if he’s going to reopen it or not, but as of right now, it is closed.”

Two days before her third birthday, Alexa was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She then underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Two years later, she had a recurrence, and then surgery once more, followed by proton therapy.

Today, her mother Jamie Weiss said, “Alexa is living a normal, healthy life as a 7-year-old. She dances, she plays tennis and does gymnastics.”
