Growing up in Buffalo Grove, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by those who celebrated Hanukkah and Christmas. I remember going over to our family friend’s home, the Moons, for Christmas Eve. They were a dual-faith family, raising their kids with two religions to pay homage to both backgrounds. They made it work flawlessly. I loved their respect for each other. The party was always packed with our closest friends. The house was lit throughout with the most beautiful lights.
