Join in the celebration of Maridel’s 90th year.
Maridel grew up in San Diego, Calif., and enjoyed practicing ballet and ushering at the Balboa Park Theater.
She met the love of her life, Edward Bilinski, at a dance while he was stationed in the Navy there.
This California girl left the Pacific Ocean and California sunshine to marry Edward and move to Chicago in 1953. They were married for 51 years. She worked in the Children’s Department at the Glenview Public Library for several years and was known as the “Story Time Lady.”
She also sang with the North Shore Harmonizers Barbershop Group and performed with the Gilbert and Sullivan Savoyaires in The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, and HMS Pinafore.
She loves spending time with her family and friends. She’s an awesome mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend!
We’d like to shower her with cards to brighten her day on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
