The Northbrook Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at approximately 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, Monday, Sept. 23, at a business located at 1363 Shermer Road, according to a release from the Village of Northbrook. 

No shots were fired during the incident and there are no reported injuries, Village officials say.

The subjects took merchandise from the store and a handgun, per the release. Officials did not release further information, including the name of the business and additional specifics of what was taken, as of publication time. Officials did confirm the business was likely “targeted”.

According to the release, police are searching for two male black subjects believed to be responsible for the robbery.

The first subject is described as a 5-foot-11-inch black male in his early 20s wearing dark clothes and bright orange shoes. The second subject is described as a 6-foot-tall black male wearing a green construction vest and is also believed to be in his early 20s. 

The two subjects were last seen heading southbound on Shermer Road in what Village officials believe to be a tan Jeep Compass. 

The department is continuing its investigation. Area agencies have also been notified.
